Mike Soffereli,
Sheriffs Department, advised that the Hacienda/La Puente Unified
School District has formed its own police department. They can be reached
by calling the school district office at 626-933-1000.
Ben Ceja, L.A. County Chief Administrative Office, reported that Supervisor
Knabe is planning to distribute a newsletter to the residents of Hacienda
Heights.
Barbara Fish reported on the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Puente
Hills Landfill Native Habitat Preservation Authority.
Bud Welch, Ombudsman for the Landfill, reported on their activities.
Mike Hughes distributed a petition from the residents around the Pacific
Heights Development urging elimination of the western cul-de-sac from
the plans. Residents in the area have passed out 200 petitions.
Charles Norris reported that 36 letters have been sent to churches and
other community organizations inviting their participation in the Jim
Davis Beautification Day event on July 3.
The Board approved the expenditure of $60 to hang the HHIA banner supporting
the "I Love America Day" parade on July 5.
