| Mission
of HHIA
To foster and support those
projects of development and activity which will improve the quality
of life in Hacienda Heights and make it a better place to live. To establish
a community of interest among the residents in order to effect a combined
influence on the deliberations of our elected officials.
Goals for 2008
(As determined by the HHIA Board of Directors on March 5, 2008.)
- Continue to participate
in the rewriting of the Hacienda Heights Community Plan.
- Continue to participate
in the drafting of the new Los Angeles County General Plan.
- Improve communication with
the Los Angeles County, specifically County Public Works.
- Continue to participate
in the design and installation of new “Welcome to” monuments
for Hacienda Heights.
- Create a new HHIA brochure,
“Chris Kakimi and Scott Martin working group”.
- Continue to participate
in proposing recommendations and usage of the PH Landfill Community
Benefit Fund.
- Encourage the completion
of previously promised walkways and improvements at Manzanita Park.
- Approach the Hacienda Heights
library about the creation of a community historic documents and artifacts
section.
- Determine current and then
request the county increase code enforcement hours provided to Hacienda
Heights with additional emphasis placed on Hacienda Blvd.
- Evaluate the usefulness,
effectiveness and value of the Community Bulletin Board and determine
whether to replace, remove, repair or beautify. “Donna Steinmetz
and Mike Hughes working group”.
- Participate in the July
Forth “I Love America Parade”.
- Organize and promote the
Jim Davis Beautification Day Event to be held June 28, 2008.
- With concern over county
budget, determine the county funds expended in Hacienda Heights by the
various county departments.
